Egg Sharing
The journey is different for egg sharers and egg recipients. However, every journey begins with an initial consultation that is designed to put you at ease with regards to any concerns you may have and to work through any potential risks.
Egg-sharing is an IVF treatment which brings together women having conventional IVF (the sharer) with those unable to produce their own eggs (the recipient). Egg-sharing enables these two groups of women to help one another - egg-sharers receive free IVF treatment, whilst recipients receive the eggs they need for IVF.
At the heart of egg-sharing is a desire to not only enjoy free IVF treatment but to also help another woman realise her dreams of becoming pregnant. Both of you will be nervous and seeking guidance as to how egg-sharing works and what you can expect.
Egg Donation
Before any intensive medical, psychological, or genetic testing is done on a donor, they must first be chosen by a recipient through their photo and first name from the profiles on agency websites.
This is due to the fact that all of the mentioned examinations are expensive and the agencies must first confirm that a match is possible or guaranteed before investing in the process.
